Great teachers read the learner, catch the exact mistake, and carry a point of view built over a career. A recording can do none of that. ArkiaMate captures that judgment as a digital memory and delivers it through Arkia. Today: Alexia. Tomorrow: many experts, one shell.
It holds their method and stays in character
The expert’s judgment lives in a system prompt served by Claude, constrained to teach the way they do. When someone tries to pull it off topic or extract its instructions, an in-character refuse-list and an output filter keep it teaching, and those guardrails are unit tested.
Every answer is drawn from their own corpus
Their lessons, examples and historical corrections are embedded and stored with pgvector, and every retrieval is filtered by their expert id. The persona can only reach for their material, so what you hear is grounded in their work and never bleeds in from another teacher.
Their voice, streamed as they answer
The reply is spoken in a clone of the expert’s voice through ElevenLabs, streamed sentence by sentence so it starts almost immediately, and the audio drives the avatar’s lip movement through a Fourier analysis of the stream while they talk.
It tracks mastery and routes what comes next
A Bayesian Knowledge Tracing model keeps a mastery estimate for each skill and updates it after every graded attempt, which lets the engine skip what you already own and circle back to what is still shaky, so the next lesson is chosen for you rather than served in a fixed order.
All of this judgment runs on the server. The client never receives the system prompt, the embeddings or the mastery thresholds, which is what keeps the method protected while you use it.
The measure that matters

We hold ourselves to one number. The time it takes you to reach mastery on a standardized post-test should fall by at least fifty percent against a linear course taught by the same expert. We measure it because that is the honest test of whether adaptation and correction in context are doing real work, and the whole system is instrumented to track it per skill.

No. The persona is built on Alexia’s teaching, retrieval is scoped to her corpus, and the voice is a clone of hers. Corrections and progressions are the ones she would give, not a generic model with a skin.
Her method lives in a server-side persona prompt. Retrieval only hits material filtered by her expert id. A refuse-list and output filter keep her in character and block prompt leaks, and those guards are unit tested.
Advanced learners (roughly B2+) who want depth, not gamification: professionals refining nuance, IELTS, business English. If mass-market apps are too shallow and a private coach is hard to sustain, this is the gap.
